It is natural to question whether or not something is part of your job responsibility. It is impossible to list all of the job related tasks in a job description or employment contracts. To begin your thought process, reflect on your own perspective of "professionalism". Study this image:
What does this image mean? Consider you role as a professional. As the painter, would you have moved the tree branch to ensure the line remained straight and your job was completed to the best of your ability? Or would you done the same thing as this painter and decided, "It's not my job to move the branch. I paint, not move branches."
In other words, are the professional that says, "I want to be the best employee, one who is helpful, and can work outside of scope every once in a while to ensure I demonstrate a professional attitude and sense of community. Or are you the employee that says, "That's not in my job description. Nope."
